SafetyID ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy and safety of the families and caregivers who use our products and services. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

a. Account Information

When you create a SafetyID account, we collect:

  • Name, email address, and phone number
  • Password (stored securely using encryption)
  • Role (e.g., parent, guardian, caregiver)

b. Child & Tag Information

When you activate a SafetyID, we collect:

  • First name or nickname of child or pet (optional)
  • Emergency contact details (e.g., name, phone, relation)
  • Optional notes or medical/allergy information
  • Tag ID and scan history (timestamp, general location if enabled)

c. Communications

We collect:

  • SMS message logs (for delivery success/failure only)
  • Email communications with support

d. Device & Usage Info

We may collect:

  • IP address, browser type, operating system
  • App usage data (e.g., button taps, tag views)
  • General geolocation if permitted by your device

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Authenticate users and send verification codes (2FA)
  • Notify you when a tag is scanned
  • Display emergency contact info to a tag scanner
  • Respond to customer support requests
  • Improve our services and prevent abuse

3. Who Can See the Info on a Tag?

When a SafetyID Tag is scanned:

  • Only the emergency contact info you choose to display is shown
  • No location or account info is visible to the person who scanned
  • You can control or update this information anytime

4. SMS & Email Communications

We may send:

  • Two-factor authentication codes
  • “Tag scanned” alerts
  • Account notices or security updates
  • Occasional service-related announcements

Reply STOP to opt out of SMS messages. Standard message and data rates may apply.

5. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your data. We only share your data with third parties in the following cases:

  • Service Providers: such as AWS, SMS gateway providers, and email services (for secure delivery)
  • Legal Requirements: if required by law or to protect safety
  • Emergency Use: if you request or authorize emergency access

6. Data Retention & Security

We retain your data only as long as needed to provide services or meet legal obligations.

  • We protect your data with:
    • Encrypted transmission (HTTPS)
    • Secure password storage
    • Access controls and logging

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login credentials.

7. Children’s Privacy

SafetyIDis intended for use by parents and caregivers, not by children directly.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.

  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Request a copy of the data we store about you
