A: No. Adults wear SafetyID too — as a medical ID, for travel and hiking, or anytime you might not be able to speak for yourself. Pets can wear it as well: scannable dog tags link to owner contact and emergency details. The Child Kit, Adult Kit, and pet tags are different products; the app works the same for every member on your account, including you and your pets.

Q: Can I use it as my own medical ID?

A: Yes. Add yourself as a member, enter your date of birth and emergency details, then assign a wristband, wallet card, or keychain. Your login is not the same as your wearable profile.

Q: Is this a GPS tracker?

A: No. SafetyID doesn’t track location. It stores emergency info that anyone can access instantly by scanning—like a digital ID, without the tracking.

Q: Does the Adult Kit wristband fit adults?

A: Yes. The Adult Kit includes an adjustable elastic fabric wristband sized 14–21 cm.

Q: Can anyone see the profile’s info?

A: You control what’s visible. SafetyID offers multiple privacy levels—ranging from basic emergency contact info to EMS-only access with your confirmation.

Q: Can strangers scan the tag in public and access the profile?

A: You choose what information is publicly visible. You control three visibility tiers:

Open Scan Mode
Show name, allergies, contact info, and optional calming message.

Emergency Contact Only
Hide personal details—just show: “Call Mom” or “Call Guardian” and their phone numbers.

Locked & Verified
No info shown unless you approve access via text. Ideal for special circumstances like shared custody or sensitive medical info.

Additionally, optional privacy covers and scan angle filters reduce scanning from side views. We're also exploring scan logging, so you can be alerted if a tag is scanned.

Q: How do I protect identity in public spaces like a park or store?

A: We recommend "Emergency Contact Only" when privacy may be a concern. These settings limit access to displaying emergency contacts only—or lock the info entirely until approved by you.

Q: Where is my personal data stored, and is it safe?

A: All personal info is stored securely using AWS infrastructure—the same cloud platform trusted by banks and government agencies. SafetyID uses encrypted data practices, role-based access controls, multi-factor authentication, and secure access protocols to protect your information. As a privacy-minded father and 12-year software engineer: if your info isn’t safe, then neither is mine. I have skin in the game and will protect your info at all costs.

Q: What if I want to change the info later?

A: You can update your SafetyID profile at any time through a secure dashboard. No re-printing or app downloads required.

Q: Does this replace my AirTag or GPS device?

A: No—and that’s the point. AirTags track location. SafetyID tells the story that helps in an emergency. Use both if needed—but don’t confuse them.
